2023 Copa Pok-Ta-Pok
(8 items)The identity for the Pensacola Pok-Ta-Pok was created by a Mexican artist named Jacobo Vidal who lives in Mexico City. He incorporated features of traditional Mexican artwork into our logos, choosing the colors and designing the logo and uniforms. The logo shows a Pok-Ta-Pok player playing the game in front of the famous El Castillo pyramid at the Mayan city of Chichen Itza in Mexico. Chichen Itza has one of the largest and most well-preserved original Pok-Ta-Pok courts.
On the gray tees, instead of saying "Pok-Ta-Pok" across the chest, our uniforms feature the word written in Mayan glyphs. A Mayan linguist scripted the name for us, which Jacobo digitized and turned into suitable jersey artwork. Our uniforms are the first MiLB jerseys to feature indigenous glyph writing.
